Grounds for election

Katy is an archaeologist and archivist with experience in public engagement, experimental archaeology, aerial photography, and heritage protection. Since 1997 she has held roles at the RCHME, English Heritage, and Historic England, including archive research services; archive collection development; cataloguing management; and latterly providing advice to government for heritage designations. Her work for these organisations has included the development of a successful £2.4million Heritage Lottery Fund bid for English Heritage, and she is now involved in Historic England’s First World War Memorial Commemoration programme. Katy’s first degree is Archaeology and Anthropology (Cambridge). Between graduation and starting work at RCHME, she spent time in field archaeology. She is now working on a doctoral research project, funded by the AHRC. From 2007 to 2016 Katy was a Trustee of the Council for British Archaeology, and has been a Young Archaeologists’ Club Leader since 1999.
