Grounds for election

Rowena Willard-Wright is a distinguished free-lance curator. From 2001 to 2018 she was Senior Curator for English Heritage’s South East Region, responsible for safeguarding archaeological collections and the display and interpretation of furnished sites, museums and exhibitions, including Dover and Walmer Castles, Osborne House and St Augustine’s and Battle Abbeys. Her curatorial expertise and interests are wide-ranging, extending from the artefacts and contents of more traditional historic sites to the furnishings of nuclear bunkers. She has written numerous articles, was co-editor of Thames and Hudson’s Dictionary of 1000 symbols in world art and religion, and is co-author of the guidebook to Walmer Castle. She lectures widely and is an expert advisor on the significance and care of cold war interiors bought-in by Historic England and is a Heritage Ambassador for the Royal Society of Arts.
