Grounds for election

Dr Roberts manages and directs large and complex excavation and analysis research projects with a particular focus on the archaeology of Roman Britain and Wiltshire. He cooperates with a wide range of public and professional stakeholders and experts. Recent highlights include leading extended programmes of research in the Stonehenge World Heritage site, the Deverill villa (a newly discovered and very significant Roman villa), and co-directing the Vale of Pewsey field school with Reading University. Beyond his HE work, he is co-director of the PASt Landscapes Project, a multi-institution collaboration researching an internationally significant Roman temple site and landscape in Wiltshire, and Teffont Archaeology Project, a long-term Roman landscape field school project. His work has attracted funding from many organisations, including this society. He is a gifted and frequent public speaker and has published in a wide range of internationally and nationally significant publications.
