Grounds for election

Hannah Russ is a zooarchaeologist who has published widely on fish bones and fishing. She has worked with material ranging from the Palaeolithic to the medieval periods in Europe and the Arabian peninsula. She is one of the editors of both Oxford Handbook of Zooarchaeology (2017) and the forthcoming Fishing in Arabia. In Britain she has worked as a specialist for several commercial units. From 2012 to 2015 she was a Research Fellow at Oxford Brookes University, and since then has been the Post-Excavation Manager for Northern Archaeological Associates with responsibility for coordinating the work on the extensive excavations at Catterick and Scotch Corner associated with the A1 road widening scheme. She has lectured at the University of Bradford, Oxford Brookes University and the Carnegie Mellon University Qatar. She has also devised and presented outreach events bringing archaeology to a wider audience.
