Dr Hilary Orange is an archaeologist specialising in global industrial heritage, public engagement, memory, popular music heritage, and Cornish identity and nationalism. has been Alexander von Humboldt Fellow since 2016, and was previously Senior Archaeologist/Researcher at UCL (2012-16), Assistant Treasure Reporter, Department of Portable Antiquities, British Museum (2007-2012), Asst Examiner for A Level Archaeology (AQA Exam Board, 2002-5) and Lecturer in Archaeology at Truro College, Cornwall (2001-5). She has been Trustee and Grants & Prizes Officer for the Society for Post-Medieval Archaeology (2013-present), and was Hon. Secretary of the Cornwall Archaeological Society (2001-2004). She was General Editor for the Papers from the Institute of Archaeology (2006-2010). Her publications include Routledge Handbook of Memory and Place (2019), Reanimating Industrial Spaces (Left Coast 2015) and a wide range of journal articles for Jo Contemp Arch, Industrial Arch Rev, Post-Med Arch, etc.
