Grounds for election

Tom Williams is currently Curator of Early Medieval Coins at the British Museum, and has recently published (with Gareth Williams) on the Wallingford mint. He is an expert on the archaeology and history of the vikings in Britain having published Viking Britain: An Exploration (2017) following a role as Exhibition Project Curator for the Vikings: Life and Legend exhibition at the British Museum. He has wide interests across the early middle ages having written his PhD dissertation on the changing nature of warfare in Britain during the 5th to 11th centuries. He has published journal papers and book chapters on this topic among others, and is co-editor (with Michael Bintley) of the collection Representing Beasts in Early Medieval England and Scandinavia.
