Following undergrad excavations UK & North Africa, Staffordshire County Council - Archaeological Assistant then Stoke on Trent City Museum and Art Gallery, responsible for several fieldwork projects, reorganisation of SMR. Joined John Samuels archaeological Consultants in 1996 project managing major schemes inc. numerous residential developments, the A11 Attleborough bypass, M6 Carlisle, the A5117 Deeside, the decommissioning of six Magnox Generation nuclear power stations and the development of the Snowdon Summit railway station. Joined RPS (current role) 2006 providing heritage advice on major infrastructure schemes with a specialism in energy including Allerton Waste Recovery Park, Hornsea offshore windfarm Projects 1 to 3, sustainable energy plants at Kemsley and Hoddesdon, a number of major onshore wind farms, numerous solar generation schemes etc. He is a well-known specialist on the settings of heritage assets. He has published on sites of all periods.
