Grounds for election

Professor Jane Stevenson is an outstanding scholar in the fields of Post-Classical and Renaissance Studies, as well as a leading authority and writer on 20th-century art. She was Lecturer at Sheffield University before moving in 2000 to Aberdeen University, where she became Professor of Post-Classical Latin (2005-07) and Regius Professor of Humanity (2007-17). She has subsequently been Keeley Visiting Fellow at Wadham College Oxford. Jane's numerous publications include 'The Laterculus Malalianus' and the School of Archbishop Theodore' (1995), 'The Closet of Sir Kenelm Digby' (with Peter Davidson, 1997), 'Women Latin Poets' (2005), 'Edward Burra: a Twentieth-Century Eye' (2007). Most recently (2018) she has published a new edition of Lucy Hutchinson's 'Of Theologie' and 'Baroque between the Wars: alternative style in the arts 1918-1939'. She is on the scientific committee of 'Eugesta (Gender Studies in Antiquity' and on the editorial board of 'Anglo-Saxon.'
