Edmund has over 25 years of professional and academic experience in archaeology and heritage management. He is a Reader at the University of Dundee and is working on a multimillion-pound collaborative heritage/science project to understand human impact on Antarctica. He specialises in understanding and managing historic buildings and landscapes, he has advised national governments on policy and has worked on everything from colonial fortresses, giant crusader castles and royal palaces, to humble hovels. He co-authored the largest listed buildings consent application in UK history (Thames Tideway Tunnels) and elements of HS2. For 8 years he has delivered a biannual masterclass for the RTPI. He still gets the chance to work on planning cases and enjoys resolving tricky ones! Ed has an interest in interpretation, outreach and media; this has included developing and appearing in programmes for the BBC and Ch4 and live events, such as the recent “Feast at Stonehenge” project.
