Grounds for election

Jessica Berry is a former journalist, author, founder and CEO of the Maritime Archaeology Sea Trust (MAST) which works in partnerships with academic establishments, government bodies and agencies, museums and avocational groups to investigate and protect maritime heritage. She has worked as a maritime archaeologist, in Australia as Assistant Curator at the Western Australian Maritime Museum, as a Project Supervisor for Wessex Archaeology and at ADRAMAR in France. She worked on the Swash Channel wreck excavation, a 17th century Dutch armed merchantman off Poole in Dorset and she is the archaeological advisor for the 1685 Coronation wreck. MAST, funded by a LIBOR grant, is now the lead partner in a major excavation of HMS Invincible 1744 with Bournemouth University and the National Museum of the Royal Navy. In 2017 she was granted the Distinguished Alumni award from Flinders University for her significant contribution nationally and internationally to maritime archaeology.
