Grounds for election

Professor Quirós Castillo is one of Spain's leading medieval archaeologists having played a central role in the disciplines of architectural archaeology, and rural settlement archaeology over the last 15 years. He has established an important, influential and substantial series of publications in these fields, not only of his own work but that of others in the form of a monograph series based at his home institution. He has supervised a raft of PhD students - many of whom he encouraged to study abroad to great effect. He has built an influential 'school' in Spanish medieval archaeology, building upon an earlier career in Italian medieval archaeology.
