Grounds for election

Julie is a highly experienced maritime archaeologist, interested in education, outreach and resource management. Throughout her career, Julie’s worked towards developing maritime archaeological best practice, policy and to raising public awareness in the UK and globally. Currently Head of Research at the Maritime Archaeology Trust, she’s run numerous projects in the UK and abroad and held various advisory and leadership roles, including Chair of CIfA’s Maritime Group and Maritime Advisor to the EH Advisory Committee. She’s published across all these areas. ‘Analysing Maritime Archaeological Archives’ presents a decade of work on the UK’s maritime archives and issues of access and management. Other publications include ‘Managing the Marine Cultural Heritage’, ‘The Hulks of Forton Lake’ and ‘The Maritime Archaeology of Alum Bay’, plus multiple journal articles. She also regularly presents her research to public audiences through a range of media and forums locally and internationally.
