Grounds for election

Dr Greg Sullivan is a historian of British sculpture, and has worked for twenty years as an academic, curator, and writer. He was Curator of British Art 1750-1830 at Tate Britain (2012-18), and Chantrey Fellow and Curator of Sculpture at the Ashmolean (2006-9). He has held research fellowships at the V&A, the Paul Mellon Centre, and Lincoln College, Oxford. He is co-author of the Biographical Dictionary of Sculptors in Britain 1660-1851 (2009) and, since 2011, its online editor. His other books include Sir Francis Chantrey and the Ashmolean Museum (2015) and Fighting History: 250 Years of British History Painting (2015). He has published articles in the Sculpture Journal and Journal of the History of Collections. He is currently preparing a monograph on the sculptor Sir Francis Chantrey FSA. Since 2004 he sits or has sat on the Sculpture and Furnishings Committee of the Church Buildings Council, the Cathedral Inventories Committee, and the Steering Committee on Sculpture for Art UK.
