Grounds for election
Susan Greaney is a Senior Properties Historian at English Heritage. After her first degree she worked briefly for ARCUS (a heritage consultancy) before taking an MSc at the University of Oxford. She joined English Heritage’s Properties Research team in 2005, researching and writing interpretation for unstaffed sites across England, ranging from industrial buildings to Neolithic monuments. In her current post she has been responsible for heritage presentation projects at prominent sites including Tintagel Castle, Chysauster ancient village and Stonehenge. Work at the latter began in 2009 developing interpretation for the visitor centre, which opened to acclaim in 2013; she has since curated two temporary exhibitions there. Susan will shortly be submitting her AHRC-funded PhD thesis on the emergence and development of Neolithic monument complexes in Britain and Ireland. Her combined expert research and public outreach work make Susan a good candidate for the Fellowship.
