Grounds for election

The artist Victor Ambrus has made a major contribution to the visual interpretation of archaeological sites throughout Britain and elsewhere. He is best known for his role as the reconstruction artist with the television series Time Team and was involved in working on over 200 sites around the country. He continues to work with various groups and organisations and his artwork helps to bring archaeological evidence to life. His artwork has been published in a wide range of books and he has worked with various archaeological collaborators notably Mick Aston to produce archaeological illustrations. Works include Recreating the Past (2001); Drawing on Archaeology (2006); Battlefield Panorama (2012); Drawing on Somerset’s Past (2018). He is probably the best-known archaeological illustrator working today.
