His architectural interests began with a study of Colen Campbell’s ‘Vitruvius Britannicus’ for his PhD. To these he has added antiquarian interests in churches and church builders in Dorset and the south-west. He has published widely, with articles in Architectural History, the Yorkshire Archaeological Journal, the Burlington Magazine, Apollo, Sussex Archaeological Collections, and Proceedings on the Dorset Natural History and Archaeological Society.
