Grounds for election

Joanna Caruth is Senior Project Archaeologist with the contracting arm of Suffolk County Council Archaeological Service and has 28 years professional experience as a field archaeologist. She has excavated, and published on, a range of regionally and nationally significant sites including the archaeological landscape of RAF Lakenheath and Mildenhall, and is currently managing to completion analysis of the Anglo-Saxon settlement at Eye and the Anglo-Saxon cemetery at Eriswell, the latter an internationally important research project undertaken in collaboration with Cardiff University. Committed to strengthening links between contract archaeology and the university and voluntary sectors, Jo’s contribution to community archaeology in Suffolk includes professional support to the Field Group of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History and running community projects. She is currently Secretary of RESCUE and a Board Member of the Federation of Archaeological Service Managers.
