Grounds for election

She is a leader in Geoarchaeology with a special focus on Micromorphology. She has completed innovative research across the greater Near East, from Turkey to Iraq to Iran. She is currently co-directing a major AHRC funded project which is investigating Sedentism and Resource Management in the Neolithic of the Central Zagros in Iraq and Iran, where she is investigating early farming societies, the settling of people in these mountanous regions, and religion. Her detailed work has altered and shaped new interpretations of early farming communities, their engagement with plants, animals and the landscape. She has published in a range of journals andbooks on Geoarchaeology, Environmental Archaeology and major archaeological sites, including Çatalhöyük and Tell Brak.
