Grounds for election

Elizabeth Savage excels in the knowledge of late medieval/early modern European printing techniques 1400–1600. She was Munby Fellow in Bibliography, Cambridge University. After her PhD (Cambridge, History of Art), she was Visiting Fellow, Warburg Institute, and British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow, English, Cambridge. She was named Lecturer in Book History, IES in 2016. Her research is renowned (eg Nature, 2015) and has won awards in her three fields: Art History (Wolfgang Ratjen Prize: ‘outstanding contributions to graphic art’; Bibliography (Bibliographical Society of America); Historical Printing (American Printing History Association). The IFPDA book award celebrated her work in the book Printing Colour 1400–1700. She engages 100,000s in research-led exhibitions (eg British Museum, Louvre). She sits on two committees of the Printing Historical Society and served on the Association of Print Scholars. She is a member of the Bibliographical Society and International Council of Museums.
