Grounds for election

Founded the archives collection at Wellingborough School whilst a pupil in 1982, and remains the honorary archivist to this day. Author of the school’s first history, "Four Centuries" (1988) and a contributor to research in the history of English independent schools. Worked for five years at Lamport Hall in Northamptonshire (2012-17), undertaking extensive research on the history of the Lamport estate in the 19th and 20th centuries. A member of the Council of the Northamptonshire Record Society since 2012. Author of "'Useless Anachronisms?' – A study of the country houses and landed estates of Northamptonshire since 1880", published by the Northamptonshire Record Society in 2018; this was very favourably reviewed in "Country Life", 23.01.19. Lectures widely to local history groups.
