Grounds for election

Marc J Allum is a distinguished Fine Art consultant and auctioneer, an antiquarian and a collector. A highly regarded writer and well known broadcaster he has spent 21 years presenting as an expert for the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow. He lectures widely to learned societies and is accredited by the Arts Society. He was recently made a Freeman of Chippenham and promotes sensitive heritage policies to preserve historic Anglo Saxon and Medieval Chippenham. An active community spokesman he manages an annual excavation which has recently established previously unrecognised Roman contexts. He works closely with Chippenham Museum and has donated important finds for the posterity of the town and supports the work of Wiltshire Museum with charitable events. He is a trustee of the Chippenham Borough Lands Charity which supports a variety of important local causes from community environmental projects, welfare, arts and education, to campaigning for sensitive and sustainable development.
