Andrew combines 40 years of archaeological fascination with his global financial-markets expertise. Studied Archaeology/Anthropology (Cambridge)under Glyn Daniel, tutors Eric Higgs, Thurstan Shaw, supervisor Paul Bahn; and gained practical experience at Philip Barker's Wroxeter Archaeology Field School. Working abroad, took numerous opportunities to visit/study World Heritage sites including: Khmer/Cham Empires;Borobudur: Dunhuang: Afrasiab: Merv: Rapa Nui: the Atacama: and Malta/Gozo. Following SOAS graduation, he recently followed the (Northern) Silk Route from Beijing to Tehran; he awaits a Maritime version planned to reach the Spice Islands. His SOAS dissertation focused on the contributions to pre-1950 Tibetan studies of Hugh Richardson, Lhasa's last British Political Officer. His professional career included 20 years advising UK Charity Investment Committees re.their portfolios, and acting as an independent UK pension trustee (these skills may perhaps benefit the Society).
