Graduated in art and architectural history with post-graduate qualification in art gallery and museum studies, Attingham Trust and Jonthan Ruffer scholarships, followed by 30 years professional practice as keeper, curator and now honorary curator of Cardiff Castle. Acknowledged and published scholar on Cardiff Castle, William Burges and the Marquesses of Bute (2019), with additional specialist interest in 19th-century interior design, the 19th-century Gothic Revival country house, ‘lost’ country houses and 19th-century ceramics. Erudite and engaging lecturer to wide-ranging audiences including The British Museum, The Tate Gallery, The Arts Society, The National Trust and museums in the US and Canada. Committed to supporting local conservation societies holding several voluntary posts including trustee of Cardiff Preservation Trust (1991-2000) and Chair of Llandaff Diocesan Committee (2019 ongoing).
