Grounds for election

Stefan Krmnicek is 'Juniorprofessor' of Ancient Numismatics at the University of Tübingen, Germany. Before joining Tübingen in 2012, he was Lecturer ('wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter') at the University of Frankfurt and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Leicester.He actively incorporates the collections of the Museum of the University of Tübingen (MUT) in teaching, research, exhibitions, and digitizing projects in order to promote the study of the ancient world to diverse audiences. He has curated three major exhibitions at the MUT: ‘Ancient Gender Roles’ (2018/19); ‘Theodor Mommsen on medals’ (2017); and ‘More than Money’ (2013). He has co-organised multiple academic conferences, on numismatics and also the 22nd Theoretical Roman Archaeology Conference (2012). SK is author and co-editor of ten books on topics such as the archaeology of money, coin iconography, Roman archaeology, and archaeological method and theory.
