Grounds for election

In her more than a twenty-year career in archaeology and heritage sector, Dr Enqvist has gained wide-ranging experience and understanding of the study and administration of the past and heritage. Due to her versatile work history in Finnish heritage management, confidential posts and positions in academia, she is widely networked with the experts engaged both in research and management of heritage, nationally and internationally. Dr Enqvist’s PhD research, which concerned the concepts, discourse and ideology of archaeological heritage administration in Finland, was the first dissertation in Finnish archaeology to address the questions of how, why and for whom archaeological heritage is created, maintained and managed. Her current research focuses on archaeological categorisations and concepts and their transition to public discourses, contributing to the theoretical and methodological development of the ways we explore the significance and multiple meanings of the past in the present.
