Grounds for election

Alexia works on the cultural history of objects and spaces with particular regard to the Hellenistic and Roman periods as well as on the reception of Classical material in Europe from c.1760-1830. She has published a monograph, Truly beyond wonders: Aelius Aristides and the cult of Asklepios' (OUP 2010) and a number of papers in refereed journals. She is currently co-editing two volumes on the reception of Greek vases, one of them concerned with working-class engagement with this sort of material; the other in which the tw-dimensionality of illustrations have affected the way in which such material is perceived and understood.
