Grounds for election

Since 1998, Dr Peters has built a Department of Archaeology at Truro College from the ground up. A BSc (Hons) has been established in Truro, leading on from a FdSc and originally an HND in Archaeology. Peters' work has included strategic partnerships with the University of Exeter, University of Plymouth and other institutions outside the UK. As well as his important role as an educator, Peters has published a wide range of research articles on digital heritage and the archaeology of Cornwall. In 2005, he published his monograph "The Archaeology of Cornwall." (Cornwall Editions Ltd) and his work on maritime Cornwall is also noteworthy. In terms of his service to the scholarly community, Peters holds a number of current positions of responsibility. He is a Member of the University Archaeology UK; a representative on the Archaeological Archives Forum UK; and a Member of the Royal Geological Society of Cornwall committee. I unreservedly recommend Dr Peters to the Society.
