Grounds for election

Mr Green is a highly respected librarian and curator of special collections. He has worked in York and St Andrews, as well as in Illinois, and is now based in Oxford, where he is Librarian of Magdalen and, from 1st October 2019, an Official Fellow of the college. He has worked continuously to help both scholarly and general audiences gain access to and appreciate the riches of our written heritage. At Magdalen, he has organised a roster of exhibitions (from medieval music fragments to T.E. Lawrence), and welcomes groups of students to learn about and engage with special collections. He is also one of the masterminds of the Thinking 3D research project which seeks to investigate the history of how we learned to communicate complex three-dimensional concepts or observations on two-dimensional media. The project has seen a series of public lectures and events, as well as exhibitions held in 2019, including at both the Bodleian and the Ashmolean in Oxford.
