Alicia Colson (BA Hons, PhD, FRGS) is as an ethno-historian and a commercial and academic archaeologist for non-governmental organizations in the non-profit sector in Canada, US, Antigua, and the UK. She has worked on the life histories of numerous pictograph sites in NW Ontario. She is fluent in four languages and has translated scholarly works on aspects of archaeology, history, anthropology in North, South and Central America and the Middle East from French, Spanish and Portuguese to English including the key role played by women in archaeological science. She was the Chief Scientist for BES in Namibia. Her research interests include: hunter-gatherers of the Boreal Forest, digital humanities, archaeological theory, history of archaeology, and sub-Saharan Africa and she has focused on the digital humanities, particularly pattern matching of archaeological image data, particularly pictographs. Colson is the author of articles, international conference papers, and a book manuscript.
