Grounds for election

Elisabeth Holmqvist holds a PhD (2010) in Archaeology from the UCL Institute of Archaeology, and an Adjunct professorship (2019), MA (2005) and BA (2004) degrees in Archaeology from the University of Helsinki. She is specialized in archaeological science (particularly XRF, SEM, ICP-MS methods). She has carried out post-doctoral research at UCL (Honorary Research Fellow 2010–2012) and at the University of Helsinki, including an Academy of Finland (AoF) post-doctoral fellowship (2012–2015) and Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies Core Fellowship (2018–2020). She acted as a senior lecturer in archaeology in Helsinki 2016 and 2017 and is a member of the AoF CoE Ancient Near Eastern Empires (2018–2025). Her recent publications include, e.g., articles in Journal of Archaeological Science (Holmqvist et al. 2018), Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports (Holmqvist et al. 2019), Oxford Handbook of Ancient Ceramic Analysis (2017) and a monograph (Ceramics in Transition 2019, Archaeopress).
