Grounds for election

After graduating in 1977 worked on Roman, late Saxon and medieval urban sites; development of post-excavation methods and Museum of London, Dept of Urban Archaeology publications eg The Cheapside study area (in Horsman V et al London Middlesex Archaeol Soc Special Paper 11); Early Development of Roman London West of the Walbrook (1991, with Perring D & Roskams S, Brit Archaeol Res Rep 70). In 1987 joined Essex County Council to direct the mansio bath house (Essex J 23) and other Roman and medieval excavations in Chelmsford. Following PPG16 responsible for management of Field Archaeology Unit projects through all stages of planning, field work, post-excavation and editing, leading to many Unit publications (see Essex Archaeol Hist and E Anglian Archaeology). Recently researched summaries for 20 key sites for Town and Country in Roman Essex (in press, Perring D et al, University College London). Currently working on backlog projects, particularly unpublished Chelmsford sites.
