Grounds for election

Very active in the fields of public archaeology and heritage studies, especially in relation to Japan, East Asia and the Vesuvian area in Italy. Has published extensively in English, Japanese and Italian, including 5 peer-reviewed article and has edited two books on public archaeology with Okamura. Public archaeology officer at the excavation of the ‘Villa of Augustus’ in Somma Vesuviana, Italy, since 2003. He worked at UNESCO Division of Cultural Heritage as a consultant in 2004 and 2005 and as a trainer in UNESCO Workshop ‘World Heritage Site Museums Programme: Revitalising World Heritage Site museums in Cambodia, Laos and Viet Nam’ held in Hanoi (Vietnam) in 2011. He has been teaching Japanese art and archaeology, public archaeology, heritage and museum studies at UEA since 2010. Postgraduate teaching director of UEA School of Art History and World Art Studies. Secretary-elect of World Archaeological Congress (WAC).
