Carol Anderson trained as an archaeologist and worked initially as a teacher, reaching Head of Sixth Form, introducing archaeology as a taught and examined subject and acting as an examiner for the London Board for O-Level Archaeology, before becoming first Head of Education for the Oxfordshire County Museum Service, then Curator of the County Museum, Woodstock, and is presently Head of the Oxfordshire County Museum Service, where she has published outstanding archaeological acquisitions. She began and ran Young Archaeologists Clubs for twenty-five years, many of her former pupils becoming professional archaeologists. She was an officer and member of CBA Groiup 9 and is an Honorary Member of the Council for British Archaeology as well as a YAC Committee member.
