Grounds for election
Dr Paynter has 20 years of experience analysing heritage materials, from archaeological sites, collections, and buildings. She advises the heritage sector on the identification and interpretation of evidence from industrial processes, including metalworking, glassworking and pottery production, and the use of analytical techniques. She co-authors guidance documents for HE, provides training for the sector and quality assurance for HE commissioned projects. She is responsible for the HE materials science laboratory, and proficient in analytical techniques. Her expertise is in identifying, dating and provenancing inorganic heritage materials, working with English Heritage, archaeological units, museums, crafts people, and partners in Europe. She is an Honorary Research fellow with the University of Sheffield, supervises Masters and PhD students, is a member of the AHRC peer review college and publishes widely in peer reviewed international science and archaeology journals.
