Dr Anne Best is an Honorary Research Fellow at UCL. Her research projects include: University of Queensland, Researcher of Aboriginal Material Culture with the ISISA Project, an ARC funded, multidisciplinary research on the culture of the Wellesley Islands published in QAR (15) A. Best ‘The Aboriginal material culture of the Wellesley Islands and adjacent coast, northwest Queensland’. She was an Indigenous Australia Curatorial Research Fellow at the Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnography researching the museum’s extensive collection of Aboriginal objects, and currently works with Professor Sue Hamilton on museum collections of Easter Island/Rapa Nui material culture. A current research paper ‘Sydney Parkinson: The connections between Art Science and Quakerism in Post-Enlightenment Britain’ will be published by the Royal Queensland Historical Society in 2020. For many years she has acted as liaison between Jersey Heritage Trust, UCL and the Ice Age Island team
