Grounds for election
Rodolfo Acevedo Rodríguez is a leading practitioner in the analysis of standing fabric using laser-scanning, photogrammetry and traditional survey techniques. He has undertaken surveys of Thornton Abbey Gatehouse (Lincs.), Wentworth Woodhouse (Yorks.) Boughton House (Northants), Doddington Hall (Lincs.), Trewithen House (Cornwall) and Petworth House (Sussex). In 2016 he was Research Fellow for The Paul Mellon Centre's British Country House project. Four papers arising from this work are due for publication later this year in ‘Art and the Country House’ (ed. Martin Postle), including ‘Doddington Hall and the Delavals: Inventories and Archives’ and ‘Doddington Hall: A Building History’. His work on the 14th-century Thornton Abbey Gatehouse, funded by the Paul Mellon Centre, is of exceptional quality, and is suitable (in my view) for publication in a leading academic journal. He is co-chair of the SAL's early-careers conference on 'Integrating Recording & Understanding' (October 2020).
