Grounds for election

Richard is an experienced small finds specialist, numismatist and curator. For over 10 years he has worked in the heritage sector for the Portable Antiquities Scheme, the Salisbury Museum, the National Museum of the Royal Navy and Historic England. He curated the award-winning exhibition on the life of Sir Terry Pratchett at Salisbury Museum. A specialist in Roman artefacts and coins, he has published regularly including two books, contributions to monographs, notes and articles including in Britannia, the British Numismatic Journal and the Antiquaries Journal. He is co-director of the PASt Landscapes project (The SAL is the principal funder including the Tristan Hillgarth award). His research has previously focused on late Roman Britain in the south west. Richard is undertaking a PhD analysing material culture and coinage from Britain and the Continent at the University of Reading. He is a Visiting Fellow at Bournemouth University and a Research Associate at the University of York.
