Grounds for election
Graeme was at the Cornwall Archaeological Unit, Cornwall Council 2001 until 2015, then freelance. He produced a wide range of rural and urban landscape surveys of Cornwall and adjacent areas: research interests cover prehistoric rock art in south-west Britain, prehistoric monuments in later contexts and regional patterns of landscape use. Publications include Managing the historic environment on west Cornwall’s rough ground and with A M Jones Beyond the core: reflections on regionality in prehistory. His Landscapes 2013 paper ‘ “Rip it up and spread it over the field”: post-medieval agriculture and the destruction of monuments, a case study from Cornwall’ was seminal. He has edited Cornish Archaeology since 2001, facilitating reports by his extensive knowledge of regional archaeology and providing substantial contributions where appropriate. His drive and expertise have been major factors in reducing the publication backlog of Cornish archaeological work.
