Over a 30 year career Sean has directed and published archaeological excavations in both rural and urban contexts. Prior to moving into consultancy he designed and managed the Bedfordshire Extensive Urban Survey and supported completion of Northamptonshire EUS. Sean developed and managed teams of heritage professionals at two consultancies working on major projects including Crossrail and Heathrow. He was heritage lead on Nationally Significant Infrastructure projects including Hinkley C, Sizewell C and Canterbury – Rochester overhead line, overseeing the Environmental Statements for DCO submission. He has published articles in National and Regional journals, both singly and jointly. Sean’s first job was on a medieval moated site in Solihull in 1986; he was a major contributor to the report on excavations at Tempsford Moat in Bedfordshire in 2003 and he has also enabled monograph publications for Isle of Grain – Shorne Gas Pipeline in Kent and Cannington Bypass, Somerset.
