As Director of Research & Engagement,Sara oversees community initiatives, post-excavation and grant-funded research.Previously Sara was Senior Lecturer in Cultural Heritage Management at the University of York, designing theHeritage Practice field school and fulfilling roles including directing Studies of Digital Heritage & Archaeological Information Systems, & Taught Postgraduate Studies. Sara has been awarded several honours including runner up of the Times Higher Education Award for Most Innovative Teacher of the Year and was one of JISC’s 50 Most Influential Higher Education Professionals Using Social Media. Sara’s research centres upon the development, use and evaluation of media and interpretative resources. She has directed interpretation and training programmes at Catalhöyük (Turkey), Memphis (Egypt), and Kilwa and Pangani (Tanzania) and led the user-centred design team on the EU-funded EMOTIVE Project, crafting emotional experiences for visitors to cultural sites.
