Grounds for election

In 2020, Dr Wiseman created Archaeology on Furlough:ten online projects for archaeologists unable to work because of coronavirus. Over 100 professionals and students volunteered on projects exploring aurochs, henges, barrows, prehistoric art, Roman and Saxon burials, and early medieval buildings in Britain. He has published as a first/single author in Current Anthropology, Antiquity, Journal of Archaeological Method and Theory and Journal of Archaeological Science. Dr Wiseman specializes in Bronze Age Britain and has also published on later prehistoric and Saxon archaeology. His broader research draws on cognitive science to interpret the concepts used by past peoples. He was elected to the CIfA Advisory Council (2015–2020), and is organiser of the Bronze Age Forum (2020/21). He is President of the Cambridge Antiquarian Society. He is currently in post at the Cambridge Archaeological Unit and formerly Oxford Archaeology and PDRA on the Rivers of Bronze project at Durham University.
