Grounds for election

Tessa Wild is an art historian specialising in the Arts and Crafts. She was a caseworker at the Georgian Group (1997-98) and then became a curator at the National Trust (1997 - 2015) initially in East Anglia and then in London and the South East. Her responsibilities for the Red House (among others), latterly, led to her fine book 'William Morris & his Palace of Art: Interiors and Design at Red House' (Philip Wilson, 2018). Her own scholarship works with, and builds upon, the recent revealing conservation work that has taken place at the house. These two strands, given an additional strength by Tessa's particularly attractive writing style, make it an important book on the period and an exemplary house monograph. (I reviewed it, very favourably, for the SPAB Magazine in 2019). Since 2018, Tessa Wild has been the Co-Director of the Attingham Summer School. She was a Trustee of the Britten Pears Foundation and is of the Emery Walker Trust.
