Grounds for election

Dr Meriel McClatchie is an Assistant Professor in Archaeology at University College Dublin. Her main area of expertise is archaeobotany, and she has demonstrated research leadership in this area. She has transformed international understandings of Irish food through high-impact publications, and established the first Archaeobotany Laboratory in University College Dublin. Recent research outputs include lead-authored papers in Antiquity, Environmental Archaeology and Proceedings of the Royal Irish Academy C. She is currently leading a work package in the ERC-funded project, "FOODCULT: Food, Culture and Identity in Ireland, 1550-1650". She is a full member of Institute of Archaeologists of Ireland since 1998 and an Honorary Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Archaeology, UCL. She has been awarded research funding from National University of Ireland, ERC, Royal Irish Academy and University College Dublin. She is currently acts as a member of several journal editorial boards.
