Grounds for election

Susan has worked with historic buildings for 25 years specialising in buildings archaeology during her MA. Skills in survey, research and interpretation of buildings were honed over 7 years in the commercial sector, largely at Wessex Archaeology; sites included Hill Hall and Wilton Castle. As Senior Investigator (Historic Buildings) for the Royal Commission, Wales, Susan specialises in Places of Worship, leading a pan-Wales thematic study on Nonconformist chapels and engaging with organisations, strategies and projects including Addoldai Cymru, Welsh Government’s Faith Tourism Action Plan and Historic Places of Worship Forum, and Sacred Wales. She is currently developing the RC’s strategy on C20 built heritage and is Chair of Wales’s first C20 Cymru group. With long expertise in the use of digital technologies for heritage, from the first commercial use of TheoLT and 3D reconstruction to the VR reconstruction of Tintern Abbey, she is founder and organiser of the Digital Past conference
