Grounds for election
Dr Davies is at the very forefront of palaeoenvironmental research and the unique insights it can provide into life and culture in the Early Medieval Period, especially in artefact-poor regions such as Wales. He is involved as a specialist on a wide range of projects, representing periods from the Neolithic (Caerau hillfort, Cardiff) to the Viking Period (Llanbedrgoch, Anglesey), and also won a prize from the Association of Industrial Archaeology for work on Silkstone Waggonway in South Yorkshire. He has a substantial list of publications, including many 'grey literature' technical reports.
