Grounds for election

Ben Ford has been a Senior Project Manager for Oxford Archaeology since 2004. His expertise is in urban archaeology, mainly across southern England, where he has directed and managed many major projects. He has particular strengths in the management, organisation, and running of excavation teams on deeply stratified sites where complex mitigation strategies are needed for urban development. More recently, his work has focused on projects in the City of Oxford and its environs, notably the large-scale, award-winning Westgate Project, as well as at Hampton Court and The Tower of London for Historic Royal Palaces. He has a strong publication record with three authored and co-authored monographs on major projects in Bristol, Reading and Winchester, three forthcoming on Oxford projects, as well as numerous academic journal articles. Ben is involved in Outreach programmes for many of his projects, and contributes regularly to the Professional Practice module at the University of Reading.
