Grounds for election

Andrew has worked as a professional archaeologist and heritage landscape manager. His PhD (2010) is on the origins of East Anglian towns Developing an interest in Japanese archaeology and heritage, he is Research Fellow for the Sainsbury Institute of Japanese Arts and Culture. He has a degree in Archaeological Sciences at the University of Bradford, and then worked at the Canterbury Archaeological and Wessex Archaeology prior to moving to Norfolk where he worked for the Norfolk Archaeological Unit and Norfolk Landscape Archaeology. He oversaw the delivery of Norwich’s Urban Archaeological Database and in 2004 became Head of Archaeological Planning for Norfolk County Council, where between 2013 and 2019 he was Environment with responsibility for archaeology, historic environment, biodiversity and landscape. Andrew is an enthusiastic exponent for archaeology, recently taking on the role of President of the Norfolk and Norwich Archaeological Society.
