Grounds for election

Dr Simon Maslin has been Finds Liaison Officer for Surrey since June 2018 and took over responsibility for Hampshire too in April 2020. He is a specialist in archaeological small finds, with wider research and practical interests in environmental archaeology and geoarchaeology. He has published across this range, in the Journal of Archaeological Science, and an imporant Finds Research Group Datasheet on post-medieval horse-harness fittings. He has been effective in the diverse range of engagement involved in his role, between public connections and scholarly consultation; he has delivered guest lectures in these fields for the Universities of Kingston and Reading, and training workshops for the Surrey Archaeological Society.
