The Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle, MBE, Dean of Westminster since 2019, and formerly Dean of Bristol, a distinguished church historian, specializing in Reformation and sixteenth-century ecclesiastical history, but with very wide ranging historical learning and interests. Former Fellow, Chaplain and Dean of Magdalene College, Cambridge (where he is now an Honorary Fellow), he is the author of several influential publications including Reformation and Religious Identity (Boydell & Brewer, 2007) and works of theological reflection. He is a well known supporter of and contributor to local and national antiquarian activities.
