Grounds for election

A preeminent scholar in Italian Renaissance art, she has been Visiting Professor at Harvard University and a Senior Visiting Fellow at Villa I Tatti. She has held many prestigious fellowships, and lectured at the Universities of Cambridge, University College, London, Leicester and Warwick. She has been a Consultant for the National Gallery, London, the Soprintendenza of Florence, the Exhibition of Taddeo di Bartolo, Perugia and a Member of the International Jury of Italian Universities’ Research Assessment. Between 1986 - 89 she was Senior Cataloguer for Old Master Paintings, Sotheby's, London. Her collected papers to 2002 were published as From Duccio’s Maestà to Raphael’s Transfiguration: Italian Altarpieces and their Settings, Pindar Press, London 2005. Over 20 papers since then include “The predella of Taddeo di Bartolo’s high altarpiece at San Francesco al Prato in Perugia”, “Brunelleschi Impresario:”, “The “Carmelite” altarpiece c 1290-c1550”, “The Altarpieces of San Lorenzo".
